Soccer Recap: Rio Americano Gets the Win

Rio Americano lost to Bella Vista back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Rio Americano Raiders had just enough and edged the Bella Vista Broncos out 2-1. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Broncos are ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tristan Chaussee and Ily Quicho Mathiesen scored both of Rio Americano's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Rio Americano pushed their record up to 5-3-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Bella Vista, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rio Americano will welcome Ponderosa at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bella Vista, they will host Inderkum at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bella Vista's last eight contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
