Soccer Game Preview: Earlham vs. Van Meter

The Earlham Cardinals will square off against the Van Meter Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Earlham is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to eight goals on Monday, they were much more limited against Perry on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bluejays, falling 4-0.

Meanwhile, Van Meter had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Vikings a 9-0 shutout. That nine goal margin sets a new team best for Van Meter this season.

Van Meter's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three contests. As for Earlham, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4-1.
