Softball Recap: Malcolm Takes a Loss

Malcolm started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Centura. They came up short against the Centurions on Friday, falling 13-5. The Clippers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jordan Small and Morgan Tiedeman stepped up to the plate in a big way. Small went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI, while Tiedeman went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Tiedeman has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.

Malcolm's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-14. As for Centura, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 21 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

While Malcolm had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
