Everything went their way against the Union Knights/Damsels on Monday as the Clarion Area Bobcats made off with a 63-42 win. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 21 points or more this season.
Several Knights/Damsels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kya Wetzel, who posted 17 points and six rebounds. That was a full 40.5% of Union's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Dehart, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards.
Clarion Area's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
Clarion Area won't have much time to rest: their next game is against East Forest at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union, they will welcome North Clarion at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
