Basketball Recap: West Shamokin Takes a Loss

West Shamokin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They lost 58-34 to the Punxsutawney Chucks. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 474th, while the Chucks are ranked 156th).

West Shamokin's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Punxsutawney, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Coming up, West Shamokin will challenge River Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. River Valley will roll in looking for their 25th straight win, something West Shamokin surely won't give up without a fight. Punxsutawney does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
