Basketball Recap: Colfax Drops Highest Score of Season Against Monterey Trail

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Colfax). The stars were shining brightly for them in a 70-55 win over the Monterey Trail Mustangs on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Falcons.

Colfax's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaia Diederichs led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 19 points and nine assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Madalyn Sigrist, who went 9 of 13 on her way to 18 points and five steals.

Diederichs wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Colfax was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Colfax is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Monterey Trail, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Colfax will take on Foothill in a tournament on Friday. Colfax is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.8 points per game this season. As for Monterey Trail, they will be taking part in a tournament against Montgomery on Friday.
