Softball Recap: Briarwood Academy Comes Up Short

If Briarwood Academy was feeling good fresh off their 11-2 takedown of Lincoln County on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Buccaneers lost 11-3 to the Harlem Bulldogs on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Briarwood Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Harlem, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Briarwood Academy and Harlem should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Buccaneers will face off against Bulloch Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (129 vs. 368). Meanwhile, Harlem (ranked 43rd) will meet Hephzibah (ranked 392nd) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
