Basketball Game Preview: Acalanes Dons vs. Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles

Acalanes has won six straight games at home, while Clayton Valley Charter has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The two teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Acalanes knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 games -- so hopefully Clayton Valley Charter likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Acalanes humbled Mt. Diablo with a 66-39 victory. The Dons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Clayton Valley Charter earned a 55-47 win over Campolindo on Tuesday. Given the Ugly Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Cougars are ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Clayton Valley Charter is also on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Acalanes, their victory bumped their record up to 20-1.
