Softball Recap: Stephenson Jaguars vs. Mt. Zion Bulldogs
After soaring to 20 runs the game before, Stephenson was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against the Mt. Zion Bulldogs, falling 15-2. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Stephenson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laila Thomas, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. That hit was Thomas' first of the season. Another was Alaina Moore-Matthew, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Stephenson's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Mt. Zion, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.
We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Stephenson will face off against rival Stone Mountain at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mt. Zion is set to square off against their familiar foe Riverdale at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
