Football Game Preview: Las Plumas Thunderbirds vs. Corning Cardinals + How To Watch

Las Plumas is on a four-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Corning is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Thunderbirds will host the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Las Plumas has given up an average of 26.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Las Plumas is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 42 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Orland on Friday. They came up short against the Trojans, falling 35-12. The Thunderbirds haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Las Plumas better focus on containing Kaleb Flournoy and Casey Long as the pair were huge in Corning's win. Flournoy rushed for 180 yards and three TDs on only eight carries, while Long rushed for 143 yards and one score on only eight carries. Long's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards.

Corning was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 361 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Las Plumas' loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Corning, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-2.
