Softball Recap: Sallisaw Comes Up Short

Sallisaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Verdigris Cardinals, falling 14-2. If the Black Diamonds were looking for revenge after losing 17-0 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sallisaw's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Verdigris, they pushed their record up to 23-7 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Sallisaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Verdigris, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-4 defeat against Glenpool on the 3rd.
