Bishop Diego picks up fifth straight win on the road

The Bishop Diego Cardinals entered their tilt with the Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica Seawolves with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Bishop Diego came out on top against Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica by a score of 50-37 on Friday. Given Bishop Diego's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica is ranked 656th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop Diego got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jiali Coronado out in front who scored 16 points. Coronado continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Galilea De la cruz, who scored 16 points.

Bishop Diego pushed their record up to 15-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Bishop Diego will head out on the road to face off against Santa Clara at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Santa Clara comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against New Roads.
