Softball Recap: Chamblee Gets the Win

Chamblee won the last time they faced Midtown and things went their way on Monday too. The Bulldogs never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Stella Barton made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Barton was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Chamblee got a massive performance out of Annabelle Ritchey, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Ritchey a new career-high. Avery D'Auria was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Chamblee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Chamblee's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Midtown, they dropped their record down to 5-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Chamblee will take on Tri-Cities at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chamblee's pitchers better be ready for this one: Tri-Cities has averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Midtown, they will face off against Creekside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
