Recap: Aptos Mariners vs. Soquel Knights
The Aptos Mariners can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Soquel as Aptos made off with a 51-31 win. The win was familiar territory for Aptos who now have four in a row.
Aptos' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Berkeley Ashby led the charge by scoring eight points along with six steals and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Laurel Southall, who scored 12 points.
Aptos has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Soquel, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aptos won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Summit Shasta at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. Summit Shasta is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road. As for Soquel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harbor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Harbor has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14.
