Baseball Game Preview: McIntosh Chiefs vs. Newnan Cougars

For the second straight game, McIntosh will face off against Newnan. McIntosh will be playing in front of their home fans against Newnan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Monday, McIntosh came up short against Newnan and fell 6-3.

McIntosh got a good showing from Knox Lofstad, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Lofstad has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jake Lutz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.

The victory (which was Newnan's tenth in a row) raised their record to 13-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for McIntosh, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
