Basketball Recap: Northern York Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

On Monday, the Northern York Polar Bears strolled past the Conrad Weiser Scouts with points to spare, taking the game 60-46. Given the Polar Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Scouts are ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northern York's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Delaney Moyer, who on her way to 18 points. What's more, Moyer also posted a 75% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Abby Freese was another key player, putting up eight points and 12 rebounds.

Several Scouts players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Geniva Paul, who posted 16 points. Paul continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Trevana, who had ten points.

Northern York has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points over those games. Conrad Weiser's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-9.

Northern York and Conrad Weiser are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Northern York will take on Susquehannock at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Conrad Weiser, they will challenge Lower Dauphin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
