California high school football: Top 5 players by position

Ceyair Wright, Domani Jackson, Earnest Greene Raleek Brown, Raesjon Davis headline Golden State's best.

We're days away from California high school football and even with a shortened spring season without some of the top recruits, there's still a lot of talented on Golden State fields.

Some notable opt-outs include Centennial's (Corona) five-star defensive end Korey Foreman, the top-rated player on 247Sports composite rankings. Joining Foreman are Beaux Collins of St. John Bosco (Bellflower), Brock Bowers of Napa, Miller Moss of Alemany (Mission Hills), Troy Franklin of Menlo-Atherton (Atherton), Tyler Buchner of Helix (La Mesa) and Xavier Worthy of Central (Fresno).


MaxPreps has already released its preseason All-State team and now dives into the Top 5 player at each position. Mater Dei (Santa Ana) has the most selections of the 50 players spotlighted with eight led by five-star cornerback Domani Jackson, four-star outside linebacker Raesjon Davis and four-star running back Raleek Brown.



Last year's national champions, St. John Bosco (Bellflower) has six players led by four-star offensive guard Earnest Greene III, four-star defensive end Nathan Burrell and four-star running back Rayshon Luke.

These two Southern California powers are scheduled to close out the season April 17 at Santa Ana Stadium in the biggest game of the spring.

In total, 28 different schools have at least one player selected with nine having multiple selections.
