Basketball Recap: Hickory Takes a Loss

Hickory played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 74-19 loss at the hands of the Neshannock Lancers. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Hickory lost, don't look at Kimora Roberts. Despite the final result, she went 6 for 9 on her way to 12 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. That was a full 63.2% of Hickory's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Hickory's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Neshannock, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hickory will square off against Fairview at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Neshannock, they will welcome Beaver Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Neshannock has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 210 points over their last three matchups.
