Softball Recap: Stephenson Falls to Riverdale in First Game of Season

Stephenson had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 22-7 to the Riverdale Raiders on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it 14 in a row.

Demia Webb and Valynncia Johnson did some serious damage despite the final result: Webb went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run, while Johnson went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alaina Moore-Matthew, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Stephenson is set to take on their familiar foe Luella at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Riverdale will challenge rival North Clayton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
