Softball Recap: McCook Comes Up Short

McCook extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 6-16. They lost 13-5 to the Scottsbluff Bearcats. If the Bison were looking for revenge after losing 10-2 to the Bearcats when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Scottsbluff, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-10. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 6-16 McCook and 7-15 Alliance.

For Scottsbluff's part, they got a massive performance out of Kiera Sarchet, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Sarchet a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Ramirez, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

McCook didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-7 loss against Alliance on the 25th. As for Scottsbluff, they have also already played their next contest, an 8-4 win against Cozad on the 25th.
