Baseball Game Preview: Union Grove Wolverines vs. Centennial Knights

The Union Grove Wolverines will face off against the Centennial Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Union Grove knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Centennial likes a good challenge.

On Thursday, Union Grove came up short against East Coweta and fell 14-10. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Centennial scored first but ultimately less than Norcross in their game on Saturday. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 5-4.

Henry Riepe was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit.

At the plate, Brenden Vo made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Centennial is 7-1 when Vo posts two or more runs, but 10-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Juan Pablo Rivas, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Union Grove's loss dropped their record down to 16-14. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-12.
