Football Game Preview: Silver Fighting Colts vs. St. Pius X Sartans + How To Watch

The Silver Fighting Colts will take on the St. Pius X Sartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Silver's defense has only allowed ten points per game this season, so St. Pius X's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Last Friday, Silver came up short against Valencia and fell 14-6. The loss was the Fighting Colts' first of the season.

Despite their loss, Silver saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Mekhi Grant, who picked up 56 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also threw for zero yards and one TD, was perhaps the best of all.

Meanwhile, St. Pius X put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Organ Mountain by a score of 28-21.

Silver better keep an eye on Hershul Olloway Jr. He was instrumental in St. Pius X's win, rushing for 255 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 14.2 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards Olloway Jr has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cayl Cox-Liggins, who picked up 122 receiving yards and one TD.

St. Pius X was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 286 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 179 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

St. Pius X's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Silver, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Silver couldn't quite get it done against St. Pius X in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 as they fell 16-6. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Sartans' Isaiah Carpenter, who threw for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Now that the Fighting Colts know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
