Basketball Recap: Wasco Falls Despite Big Games from Camila Castillo and Vianey Velasquez

Wasco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 37-28 to the Delano Tigers. Wasco was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Delano earlier this season, when they won 37-18.

Wasco's loss came despite strong showings from Vianey Velasquez and Camila Castillo. Velasquez posted ten points, while Castillo had four points and four steals.

Wasco's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Delano, they moved to 3-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wasco Tigers challenge the Taft Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wasco's defense has only allowed 26.1 points per game this season, so Taft's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Delano, they will welcome McFarland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
