Baseball Game Preview: White County Warriors vs. Chestatee War Eagles

For the second straight game, White County will face off against Chestatee. White County will take on Chestatee at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

While White County's victory against Chestatee wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. White County came out on top in a nail-biter against Chestatee on Thursday, sneaking past 7-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Alex Freeman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other pitching news, White County got a great performance from Grant Gooch as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Gooch has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Cooper Garrett was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Brayden Roach also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

White County's record now sits at 9-10. As for Chestatee, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.
