Softball Recap: Eureka Beats Rockwood Summit for Their Sixth Straight Win

Eureka entered their tilt with Rockwood Summit on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Falcons. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kayleigh Niles, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Haley Deakin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Eureka was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Eureka's record now sits at 10-2. As for Rockwood Summit, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Eureka will square off against Parkway Central at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Colts' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rockwood Summit, they will take on Cor Jesu Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
