Clifton entered their tilt with Troy on Friday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 3-0 win. For the Cubs, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Trojans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Clifton not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Troy to exactly 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-20.

Brystel Wise paced Clifton's offense, picking up 13 kills. Wise got some help from Madison Otter and her 27 assists. Otter was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Clifton's win bumped their record up to 30-6. As for Troy, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 18-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Clifton will venture away from home to take on McGregor at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Troy, they will head out to square off against Whitney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
