Softball Recap: Big Pasture Takes a Loss

After flying high against Grandfield on Thursday, Big Pasture came back down to earth. The Rangers came up short against the Cyril Pirates on Friday, falling 11-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rangers of the 17-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2023.

Big Pasture saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sofia Hester, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The loss snapped Big Pasture's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-6 record. As for Cyril, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Big Pasture will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Roff at 6:30 p.m. on the 8th. As for Cyril, they will head out to face off against Harrah at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
