Soccer Game Preview: King vs. Centennial

The King Wolves and the Centennial Huskies will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

King fell victim to Santiago and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sharks. The defeat continues a trend for Wolves in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous five contests, Centennial brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They never let Corona onto the board and left with a 5-0 win on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won six matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Corona with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kaycee Smalley (2), Brystal Albright (2), and Isabella Alarcon.

King's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6-3. As for Centennial, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 10-5-2.

King beat Centennial by a goal in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 1-0. Will King repeat their success, or does Centennial have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
