Softball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Prince Avenue Christian's Winning Streak

Prince Avenue Christian dropped down to 16-2 on Tuesday, ending the team's 15-game streak of wins. They fell 6-2 to the Hebron Christian Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 6-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

As for Hebron Christian, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games.

For Hebron Christian's part, Kate Kennedy tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Kennedy has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gabby Raysor was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lauren Kyranakis, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Prince Avenue Christian and Hebron Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Wolverines will face off against Franklin County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (8 vs. 164). Meanwhile, Hebron Christian (ranked 16th) will meet Hart County (ranked 147th) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
