Soccer Game Preview: North Oconee vs. Oconee County

The North Oconee Titans will face off against the Oconee County Warriors at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. North Oconee's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

North Oconee took a six-goal loss the last time they faced off against Madison County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. North Oconee had just enough and edged out Madison County 2-1. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Oconee County kept a clean sheet against Holy Spirit Prep on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over the Cougars. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 2.6 goals per game.

They hit Holy Spirit Prep with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alfonso Ruiz (2), Jack Stanger (2), and Noah Lynall.

North Oconee's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four contests. As for Oconee County, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
