Football Recap: Belaire Takes a Loss

Belaire had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it nine. They took a blow against the Brusly Panthers, falling 51-12. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bengals of the 57-14 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Brusly, their win bumped their record up to 4-1. Considering they have won four contests by more than 35 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Brusly got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Drake Vincent out in front who threw for 301 yards and four TDs while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt. Robdrick Covington helped Vincent out on the ground, rushing for 87 yards and three scores on only eight carries.

Coming up, Belaire will square off against Istrouma at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The Indians' defense has only allowed four points per game this season, so the Bengals' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Brusly, they will challenge Donaldsonville at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 9, the Tigers 10.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
