Basketball Recap: Greater Latrobe Takes a Loss

Greater Latrobe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 72-56 bruising from the Blackhawk Cougars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-57 back in December of 2024.

Blackhawk got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aubree Hupp out in front who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 boards. Hupp is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 26 games she's played dating back to last season. Ava Pagani was another key player, going 7 for 10 en route to 20 points.

Greater Latrobe's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Blackhawk, they pushed their record up to 19-2 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.

Greater Latrobe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Blackhawk, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Blackhawk Cougars duke it out with the North Allegheny Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
