Softball Recap: New Bloomfield Comes Up Short

New Bloomfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fatima Comets. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Comets from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Taylor Allen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, New Bloomfield saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bella Talbot, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

New Bloomfield's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Fatima, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Bloomfield will welcome Russellville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fatima, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Callaway at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
