Baseball Game Preview: Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs vs. Clarke Central Gladiators

For the second straight game, Winder-Barrow will face off against Clarke Central. The Bulldoggs will challenge the Gladiators at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday. Winder-Barrow is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Winder-Barrow's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Clarke Central 1-0.

For Clarke Central's part, Macon Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. Davis also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Gladiators are 6-3 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-9 otherwise.

Winder-Barrow pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Clarke Central, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-12 record.
