Baseball Recap: Rockdale County Takes a Loss

Rockdale County was the 7-6 winner over Newton when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. Rockdale County fell 6-1 to Newton on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Rockdale County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Raggs, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Rockdale County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. Newton's victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Coming up, Rockdale County will square off against South Gwinnett at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Rockdale County is facing South Gwinnett at the right time seeing as South Gwinnett is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Newton, they will face off against Grovetown at 5:55 p.m. on Monday.
