Basketball Recap: Bernadett Olivares' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Gertz-Ressler over Fremont

Gertz-Ressler lost against Fremont back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Gertz-Ressler Pumas fell just short of the Fremont Pathfinders by a score of 38-35. The Pumas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gertz-Ressler's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bernadett Olivares, who posted nine points and four steals. Jasmin Garcia was another key player, putting up seven points along with seven boards and six steals.

Gertz-Ressler's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Fremont, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Gertz-Ressler will take on New Designs University Park at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fremont, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 26-20 victory against GALA on the 4th.
