Baseball Recap: Triton Comes Up Short

Triton had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 5-12 to make it four. They fell just short of the Waseca Bluejays by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Cobras have lost by just one run.

As for Waseca, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-12 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Waseca's part, Hayden Stencel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, Kallen Glynn was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Triton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Waseca, they will face off against Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Bluejays' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
