It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Veterans ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mary Persons Bulldogs, sneaking past 13-12. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Veterans moved to 11-14 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Mary Persons, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-14.

Coming up, Veterans will square off against Peach County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their 22nd straight victory, something the Warhawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mary Persons, they will take on Upson-Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
