Baseball Game Preview: Dalton Bulldogs vs. David Anderson Blue Devils

The Dalton Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the David Anderson Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Dalton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so David Anderson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Dalton didn't have quite enough to beat Rittman and fell 4-2. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

David Anderson came out on top against Heartland Christian on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Blue Devils blew past the Lions 9-1. Considering the Blue Devils have won 12 contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Logan Sturgeon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because David Anderson is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 8-10 otherwise. Sturgeon was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Jones, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Aiden Myers also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

David Anderson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heartland Christian struck out 15 times.

David Anderson has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Dalton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-9.
