On Monday, Parkway West escaped with a win against Mariana Bracetti Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 34-33.
Parkway West's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kemba Brown, who scored 12 points, and Nymira Bryant, who scored 16 points. The contest was Bryant's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Meanwhile, Overbrook's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Olney at home and fell 53-25. Overbrook was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.
Parkway West's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Overbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
