Soccer Game Preview: Pickens vs. Greater Atlanta Christian

The Pickens Dragons will venture away from home to square off against the Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Pickens has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Greater Atlanta Christian will arrive with six straight wins.

While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Union County who was credited with the victory on Monday. Union County got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Pickens' one.

Greater Atlanta Christian will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Friday, then bounced right back against Providence Christian Academy on Tuesday. Greater Atlanta Christian never let Providence Christian Academy get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. Considering the Spartans have won four games by more than four goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Greater Atlanta Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those four contests. As for Pickens, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
