Basketball Recap: Combine Academy Varsity Find Success

The Combine Academy Varsity Goats had just enough and edged out the Riverside Christian Academy Royals 60-57 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Goats.

Riverside Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Moises Gonzalez, who shot 53% from the field to rack up 24 points and four steals. Gonzalez's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. Another player making a difference was Braydon Temple, who went 7-for-17 en route to 16 points.

Combine Academy Varsity's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Riverside Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Combine Academy Varsity will challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Riverside Christian Academy, they will face off against Wayne Preparatory Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
