Baseball Recap: Firelands Comes Up Short

Firelands suffered their biggest defeat since April 8th on Monday. They came up short against the Keystone Wildcats, falling 11-4. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Aaron Bower and Carter Jones stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bower went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI, while Jones got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Firelands is 4-1 when Jones posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise.

Firelands' loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Keystone, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Firelands will head out to take on Columbia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Keystone, they will face off against Avon Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
