Mayo is a perfect 9-0 against Albert Lea since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Spartans will welcome the Tigers at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Mayo and Owatonna, and Owatonna kept the tradition alive. The Spartans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Huskies on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Albert Lea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to Northfield.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-17, 25-14.

Mayo's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Albert Lea, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Mayo skirted past Albert Lea 3-2 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
