Baseball Recap: Ridgeland Gets the Win

Ridgeland was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Portal 4-2.

Lincoln Platt was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jax Middlebrooks, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Ridgeland now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Portal, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridgeland will welcome Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Portal, they will host McIntosh County Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Portal's pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so McIntosh County Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
