Soccer Game Preview: St. Anthony vs. Bishop Montgomery

St. Anthony hasn't had much luck against Bishop Montgomery recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The St. Anthony Saints will take on the Bishop Montgomery Knights at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, St. Anthony narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past St. Mary's Academy 2-1. The Saints wouldn't have won without Tatiana Callejas, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Bishop Montgomery entered their tilt with St. Mary's Academy on Saturday with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Their defense stepped up to hand the Belles a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Knights have won nine contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Bishop Montgomery pushed their record up to 9-5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for St. Anthony, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-1 record this season.

St. Anthony might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Bishop Montgomery in their previous meeting back in January. Can St. Anthony avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
