Football Preview: Mt. Shasta Bears vs. Trinity Wolves        
        
		
            
 The Mt. Shasta Bears will venture away from home to  challenge the Trinity Wolves  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Mt. Shasta will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Friday, Mt. Shasta didn't have too much breathing room in their  contest against Modoc, but they still walked away with a  12-7 win.
Among those leading the charge was   Leo Martinez, who rushed for 65 yards and one  score. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards.
 Another reason for the win was Mt. Shasta's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess:  Caleb Sheets,  Benedict Gazave,  and  Trevor Lanier, who each picked up one  sack apiece. Mt. Shasta got some further help from  Sheets: he picked up  a  sack and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Trinity). They breezed past Weed to the tune of  35-6 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Wolves with their most commanding win of the  season.
Trinity found their leader in sophomore  Wes Dresselhaus, who rushed for 233 yards and a pair of  touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 42 receiving yards. Those 233  rushing yards set a new season-high mark for  Dresselhaus.  Miller Brown also helped with two TDs in total.
 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Trinity was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 318  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
 Mt. Shasta's record now sits at 5-3. As for Trinity, their record is now 3-5.
 Mt. Shasta came up short against Trinity when the teams last played  back in November of 2024, falling  22-14. Can the Bears avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
