It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Grand Junction had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Vista Ridge Wolves. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won 11 matchups in a row.

Kloe Donahue made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jaxon Clark was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Alysa Lorimor was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Grand Junction's record now sits at 18-4. As for Vista Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season.

Grand Junction will take on Riverdale Ridge in a tournament on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.7, the Ravens 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Vista Ridge, they will be taking part in a tournament against Legacy at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lightning have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
