Baseball Recap: Hamilton Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hamilton can now relate to. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elder Panthers on Tuesday. The Big Blue's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Noah Davidson and Maddox Jones stepped up to the plate in a big way. Davidson went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double, while Jones went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Jones is becoming a predictor of Hamilton's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 8-15 when he doesn't). Sammy Platt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Hamilton's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Elder, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Hamilton nor Elder have any future games scheduled.
