Baseball Recap: Milton Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Selinsgrove, Milton was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Shikellamy Braves 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Black Panthers have posted since May 19, 2025.

Hudson King made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Gabe Engel was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Milton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-19. As for Shikellamy, they dropped their record down to 8-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Milton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shikellamy, they are taking a road trip to face off against Hollidaysburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Tigers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
